If they sent you a bill, ignore. Do not pay!

If you charged it on a credit card, contact them and request that they do not pay.

Good luck.

Got one in mail today and was suspicious, sure glad I checked them out before calling :(

Oh boy am I going to have fun with them, I'm calling tomorrow and I'm going to troll the *** out of them. Just got one of these in the mail to my wife and we were very leery.

People don't just give money away for no reason.

Now I'm going to make them wish they hadn't. Thank you for all the comments.

These people cannot speak plain English and they talk so fast that they have you signed up before you know what's happening. Especially if you have the least bit of hearing problem. I have begged for someone to talk to who understand good old Southern English and the person who has probably never seen the USA says, "I speak English!" I hate to refuse to speak to anyone of another nationality because of this, but it looks like my only choice.

If you are a credit card holder outside of Florida, you'll recieve the Strike it Rich Sweepstakes. Which is why I don't have a credit card, because of stalker companies like this.

Quite a number of years ago (prior to moving to current address (of 10+ years) these bozos managed to sucker me into their little scam. Could not cancel or ask for an alternative magazine and I was stuck with the *** bill ...

and NO win!!! I lost then, but have since learned from it! Unfortunately they have over the last 6 or 7 years mailed me their little "notice" ... and each time it has been tossed in the recycle bin.

And then today (03/05/2012) another *** notice (labeled a "second notice", there was no first notice in close to a year) saying I did not have to enter to win, lies I'm sure! Needless to say that too ended where all the others have. I never gave out my current address (they only knew of the previous one), yet they somehow managed to find me at this one.

Perhaps a complaint to the better business bureau might be in order? :(

Just get one now and check the reports here before i do anything foolish. Sure glad to know all these info. How do these people get away with these criminal acts?

Guest

I wonder how they get the addresses. It has to be from the banks, because there is no other way to get my address at this location which is not my home. The only mail I have received here were bank statements which I have eliminiated altoghether :?

Guest

i too just received this sweepstakes in the mail today, glad i read everyone's comments..I'm definitely not calling them now!!i also read someone's comment about how they think they have been sent this sweepstakes because they have credit cards..i dont think that's the case..i DO NOT own ANY credit cards never have,so i don't think that is why they are mailing this sweepstakes to us!!

Guest

I read this forum before I called National Magazine Exchange for the sweepstakes...gave them the id number...confirmed my name...they asked me if I had a credit card...said yes...then the girl said: your entry has been completed...then I hung up!

I recieved one today!!! I called and i too realized that the suporvisor the rep transferred me to after asking me questions kept talking over me and interrupting me.

She would not let me get a word in all she cared about was my expiration date from my credit card. I figured it out that the only reason i was sent that letter was because i had a visa or mastercard credit card. The only way they could have known that which she did is from my credit card company! ppl please be careful there are so many scams going on and its getting worse.

she offered me 2 gold diamond watches and an electronic organizer with the magazines. i realized she was a fake after they kept bringing up the freakin weather!!! i hung up and did not give her my info. Listen to every owrd they say and HOW they say it.

Now they have my number in their system so now my main problem is going to be them calling me over and over again and selling my number to other companies that run scams! :sigh

Hi, Jerry Garcia. You are by Law entitle to be taken off their mailing/calling list. You can do so by providing them next time you call and by giving then your entry number, and then asking them specifically to place you on a 'No mail/No call' list. They have to honour your request and it's the law. Then from that point you can simply say thank you and hang up.

Also, since you've provided them with a sweepstakes ID number again, you are entered into their sweepstakes an additional time, thereby increasing your odds of winning the sweepstakes! If your name is drawn as the grand prize winner, they must pay you!

So one great step of putting the odds in customers' favour of having to never be bothered again by NME and its fast-talking sales pitches is to enter via your ID number, ask to be removed from the mailing and call list and you still could win the grand prize in the next drawing! You entered, you are entitled regardless to win if your name is indeed drawn and by law there's nothing they can do about it!

Best thing is that at this point they haven't yet had chance to pitch anything at you because you can then say thank yu and hang up!

Customers unite, and let's put an end to NME's current method of scamming customers with their slick sales pitches.

I wish to be taken off of this program and also off of this sweepstake.com. :?

Guest

I worked for them for a short while. Yes, they are aggressive in trying to get you to buy magazines.

But the sweepstakes is real. If you checked online you would see that. Every conversation is monitored. Employees are fined if they say the wrong thing.

Because they have two pages of things employees cannot say.

And if you don't give your credit card which is confrmed 3 times in the script that you agreed then you won't get magazines or be charged. And guess what, there is the optin to HUNG UP!

I just received one in today and thank God I took the time to check it out, To me this is a Criminal act, to scam people out of their money, It's sad that a Company has to do this kind a Criminal Act to sale their Magazine,, No is No, and to still send you their Magazine and a bill right after, Maybe you should come out with your own company like ( Returns R Us ) and Box their Magazine and return it back to them along with your bill of $536.64
